Quick answer

To add your podcast to Amazon Music, put your email address in your RSS feed, go to podcasters.amazon.com and click Add or Claim Your Podcast. Sign in with your Amazon account, paste your RSS feed URL and submit. Then confirm the verification email Amazon sends to your feed address. The same steps claim a show already listed.

Before you start

What you'll need

  • An Amazon account. A regular Amazon login works, or you can create one during sign in.
  • Your RSS feed URL from your podcast host.
  • At least one published episode in that feed.
  • Square cover art, plus a title, description, author, category and language in your feed. Most hosts recommend art between 1400 and 3000 pixels.
  • Your email address visible in the RSS feed, and access to that inbox. Amazon uses it to confirm you own the show.

Step by step

Add your show in 6 steps

1

Check whether your host already lists you

Many podcast hosts can list your show on Amazon Music for you from their directories or distribution settings. Look there first. If your show is already on Amazon Music, you will claim it with the steps below rather than submit it again.

Tip: Search Amazon Music for your show name before you submit, so you don't create a duplicate listing.

2

Put your email address in your RSS feed

In your host's settings, make sure an email address you can open is shown in your RSS feed. Amazon sends its verification email to this address. Many hosts hide it by default, so you may need to switch it on.

Some hosts suggest leaving the email in the feed for a day or two so the change has time to reach Amazon.

Tip: Use an email the show owner controls, not a freelancer's or agency's personal inbox.

3

Open Amazon Music for Podcasters

Go to podcasters.amazon.com and click Add or Claim Your Podcast. The same button works for a brand new show and for a show that is already on Amazon Music.

4

Sign in with your Amazon account

Sign in with your Amazon login. If you don't have one, choose Create new account. Use the account that belongs to the show owner.

5

Paste your RSS feed and submit

Copy your RSS feed URL from your host. Paste it into the form, select your country, and click Submit.

6

Confirm the verification email

Amazon sends a confirmation email to the address in your RSS feed. Open it and click the link to confirm you own the show. After that you can use the Amazon Music for Podcasters dashboard and stats.

New shows can take a few hours to appear on Amazon Music. If you claimed a show that was already listed, you usually get dashboard access straight away.

Tip: No email? Check spam, then check the email address actually showing in your feed.

What about team access?

Amazon Music for Podcasters does not appear to offer a way to invite team members or give someone their own role. (Amazon Music for Artists has team roles, but that is a different product.) Until Amazon adds one, keep access simple and safe:

  • Never share the Amazon password with a producer, editor or agency.
  • Keep the feed email under the show owner's control, so the owner can always verify or reclaim the show.
  • Share reports instead. The show owner sends screenshots of the stats on an agreed schedule.
  • Check the dashboard now and then for a team or user setting, in case Amazon adds one.

Troubleshooting

Common problems

The verification email never arrives

Amazon only emails the address shown in your RSS feed. Check that your host is actually publishing it, check spam, and give the feed time to update before you try again.

My show is already on Amazon Music

Don't submit it again, or you may create a duplicate. Use the same Add or Claim Your Podcast button with your existing RSS feed to claim it instead.

The feed shows an old email

If a past producer's address is in the feed, the email goes to them. Change the owner email in your host's settings to one the show owner controls, then start again.

My new show isn't showing up yet

New shows can take a few hours to appear. If it is still missing after that, or the submission fails, contact Amazon at podcasters@amazon.com.

Amazon's stats don't match my host

That's normal. Amazon and your host count different things, so the numbers rarely match exactly. Compare trends over time rather than exact totals.

My producer needs to see the stats

There's no confirmed team invite feature. Don't share the password. Have the show owner share screenshots of the stats on a regular schedule instead.
